A typical day in the life of a Human Resources Advisor at SBB

  • Act as an advisor to the managers on policy management and company programs.
  • Ensure the respect and implementation of new company politics or of new human resource initiatives.
  • Establish and push for engagement initiatives and staff recognition.
  • Plan for manpower requirements and all related processes.
  • Collaborate on succession planning, talent management, and training maintenance.
  • Participate in revisions on annual salary reviews and performance management process.
  • Promote and ensure a safe working space, look for ways to improve and spread knowledge on the health and security program.
  • Administer various benefit programs (ex:  REER groups, insurance collective, etc.).
  • Aim to maintain good relations between the company and its employees.
  • Write communications and inform employees on various human resource topics.
  • Work on payroll processes.
  • Work on other tasks related to function.



The ideal Human Resources Advisor has


Has the following background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or an equivalent of.
  • Is a member of the CRHA (asset)
  • 5 years of experience in a generalist position in the manufacturing field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a Human Resources Advisor position or in a strategic role.


And brings the following abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Superior knowledge of the English language.
  • Knowledge of the Employeur D app of Desjardins (asset).
  • Knowledge of the Kronos system (asset).
  • Autonomy.
  • Discreet.
  • Handles stress well.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong relation with coworkers.
  • A sense of analysis.
  • Great teamwork.
