Wind Energy
- Met Masts
In 1996, we created the aluminium modular tower, now in use in over 20 countries worldwide. Today, SBB is becoming an important player in the supply of wind measurement towers for the Wind Energy sector. SBB towers are used to collect meteorological data while studying the feasibility of wind energy farms. Collecting data for approximately 12 months allows ensuring variations of the wind speed, direction and height throughout a whole year. This helps optimize localisation of the windmills and facilitate financing negotiations. Our towers can go as high as 120m and can be easily dismantled and moved to a different location after 12 months. They can also be a valuable option for permanent met masts since their capacity to resist very strong winds, ice and extremely cold temperatures, as well as their incomparably fast installation and dismantling, even on difficult terrain, make the SBB towers the ideal choice for wind energy projects. To better service our clients, we have now become a turnkey solution provider, offering everything from the tower, the instruments, to the tools and equipment as well as the training required to build our modular tower.
