Advantages of SBB towers

  • The unique profile of the 412 mast section allows it to be easily stacked and stored. All parts fit into one standard size container, thereby eliminating multiple voyages for shipping and the associated high cost.
  • The aluminum design of the tower eliminates any maintenance, and the unique SBB design of the mast section and its components requires low labor. During assembly, standard tools are used to mount the tower sections. All this results in a lower cost of ownership.
  • Better Technology is SBB’s ongoing goal. Our mast sections are light weight, with the most innovative accessories and improved security. We take pride in our constant R&D investments that allows us to break new grounds.
  • With every tower installation, SBB offers a complete training program to give the client a thorough overview of the software and field assembly techniques. At the end of this program, the client will be able to perform configuration validation on the software.
  • Fast response for your emergency needs. The simplicity of the accessories and the versatility of the mast sections allow a 30 meter tower, complete with insulators and anchors, to be erected in 3 hours using a team of only 6 men. Thereby, lowering installation costs.^

Typical applications

The SBB towers are multi-disciplinary. The unique design is adaptable to fit any application, such as:

  • Emergency tower for transmission or distribution lines
    - In case of power failure due to a natural disaster, accident or vandalism, SBB towers are easy to install in the shortest time possible with minimum manpower and tools.
  • Emergency tower for communication
    - High penalties are often associated with telecommunication tower failure. SBB towers can be erected and set up in a fraction of the time needed for a conventional tower to be assembled.
  • Temporary tower for scheduled maintenance work
    - Whether it is to change the conductors, bypass, overbuild, or install a new line. SBB towers are easy to install temporarily for maintenance purposes.
  • Temporary tower for meteorological and anemometric measurements (wind energy)
    - Need to evaluate a wind farm’s location performance? SBB towers are widely used for retrieving anemometric measurements. Different instruments are easy to install on the tower at different levels. SBB towers can to any height necessary.
  • Temporary tower for open-pit mining exploration
    - Open pit mines are cities in constant movement and road rearrangements. With distribution lines locations ever-changing or heavy machinery passing through a road where the power lines are too low and must change course. SBB tower’s modular design permits endless possibilities of configurations that can accommodate any mine requirements.
  • Temporary tower for public-safety an armed forces’ critical communications in remote sites
    - Failure to meet tight deadlines in telecommunication industries results in very high penalties. Solution is installing a temporary SBB tower that can handle all your needs.
  • Self supported (18-21 meters maximum)
    - Where the use of guy supported towers is prohibited or impossible because of obstructions, SBB’s self supported design can virtually be erected anywhere.
